British Values
Here at Saighton CE Primary School we appreciate our responsibility to prepare our pupils for life in modern Britain.
We celebrate and promote the British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect, and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
This is evident through our curriculum here at Saighton CE Primary School and in the opportunities we offer to our children such as Remembrance Day activities, whole school celebrations to mark national events such as the Queen’s Jubilee and the King’s Coronation, Parliament Week in Years 5 and 6, and through the use of Picture News where we are posed with big questions based on current news stories.
Our whole school ethos is based on the teachings of Jesus and Christian Values and these, along with British Values, form the foundation of how we behave and treat others. Both are regularly promoted within worship and embedded throughout our school life by pupils and staff alike.
We are proud to be a member of the No Outsiders community and our children are encouraged to engage in asking questions and thinking critically around age-appropriate stories and texts recommended. No-Outsiders

Our work around British values is also supported by our PSHE curriculum and the use of HeartSmart and SEAL resources.
