Leave of Absence Requests
The Government discourages the taking of holidays in term-time. Evidence shows that children who miss school do not achieve as well as those that attend regularly.
As of September 2013, the law has restricted a Headteacher's ability to authorise leave / holiday during term-time. Headteachers are now only empowered to approve a leave of absence when it is requested in advance by the parent or carer with whom a child resides and when circumstances of the requeted leave are deemed 'exceptional'.
To apply for absence during term-time, please complete the Leave of Absence Request Form and email it to the school office, at least 2 weeks before the start of the requested leave. Leave of absence requests will not be authorised with less that 2 weeks' notice.
Please note that if your leave of absence request is not authorised by the Headteacher and you still choose to take your child out of school, you may be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice.
